These ones are all on me. Numbers 18 to 23 are;
- Pass the RAF fitness requirements
- Complete Tough Mudder
- Learn to Ice Skate
- Learn to ride a bike
- Learn to drive
- Learn to Juggle
Pass the RAF Fitness requirements
I’m not joining the RAF, even though it would probably help with some of the list. I’m just using this as a target for my fitness. Each November before my birthday I’m going to attempt the requirements and see how close I get. If I pass before my 39th, the aim is to surpass it.
Complete a Tough Mudder course
This is going hand in hand with the previous task, but its less regimented. I don’t need to meet a time, my aim is to finish it.
Learn to Ice Skate
I’ve been on an ice rink as a child. I successfully went round the edge clinging on in fear for my life. What I want is to properly learn, and the goal is to do a spin. It doesn’t need to be graceful, I just need to turn.
Learn to Ride a Bike – Completed
I completed this one! I bought myself a second hand bike from a strange man on Gumtree, walked it to the station, on the train and to home. Then the next day after a clean and a de-rust (and hours of watching YouTube videos on how to learn to ride a bike as an adult) I wobbled off around my garden while sweating and only had one little cry afterwards. Now, I happily cycle the 3km to work every day like a mediocre 10 year old, but I’m doing it!
Learn to Drive
I’ve never needed to learn, and have some personal barriers that have stopped me for the last decade. This is more of a mental push than a physical one.
Learn to Juggle
Purely for fun, why not?!
