36-40; Life, Ethics and Admin

This is the part that includes the ‘boring’ tasks, but I don’t want it to be all about me. The final 36 to 40 are;

  • Leave a 100% Tip in a restaurant
  • Complete 100+ hours of volunteering
  • Be debt free
  • Keep my nails done properly for a year
  • Finish my tattoo sleeve

Leave a 100% Tip in a restaurant

I know where I want to go, until now I haven’t been in a place financially to be able to do it. This one has a specific date and time in mind, and will only be marked as completed when done because it feels too self-congratulatory and I want it to be as selfless as possible (though I appreciate that using it for this list isn’t selfless, I’m trying my best)

Complete 100+ hours of volunteering – In Progress

I know this isn’t a lot of hours, but without doxxing myself I work for a company that does a lot to help the community and takes up a lot of my day to day time, so I’ve set a realistic goal that I hope to exceed and update with additional targets before my challenge ends. Again, one that will just be shown as completed when done.

Be debt free – Completed

This is genuinely the one I’m most proud of and was a barrier to be able to do a lot of this list. I had a lot of silly debt from my past that was adding up and the only person it was hurting was myself. With my original timeline I was due to pay this off in December 2029, but after a year of extremely hard work in 2025 I paid off my debt in full just over 4 years ahead of planned in November 2025.

Keep my nails done properly for a year- In Progress

This is fun and again helps nobody, but I always grew up thinking that ladies who get their nails done always have their life together. I was never that lady, I had chipped polish and uneven lengths and ragged cuticles. Now I get them professionally done and am a third of the way through this little personal challenge.

Finish my tattoo sleeve – In Progress

My tattoo started my ‘debt free’ plan when I managed to unexpectedly budget after deciding on a whim to get a large tattoo, and realising that if I could budget for an unexpected expense like that then I had no excuse not to pay off my debt. My present to myself now is to add to that tattoo and finish my sleeve.
